Political polarization and hostility are at all-time highs. Americans of all backgrounds are worried about the future, and there’s a growing distrust in leaders, parties, and the government.
We all deserve to feel secure, empowered, and at ease during election seasons—a sense of stability, no matter who’s in office.
As civic literacy has declined, so has trust in the system. SparkCivic is here to ignite a wave of political knowledge and confidence through engaging, modern, 21st-century resources and a simple 6-step plan to help people get started.

It all began with a failed bid for public office.
I’m Sara, the founder of SparkCivic, and I ran for local office in 2022. While I didn’t win, I gained more value than I thought possible: a deeper understanding of our civic processes, firsthand insight into people’s disconnection from politics, and a renewed ambition to bridge the gap between people and power.
